Building more than an equipment supply
Archery development work in Niger has brought together Olympic Solidarity, World Archery and continental partners. Equipment remains a major need, but the programme has also concentrated on the structure around the athletes.
Activity included a Level 1 coaching course, competition-organisation training, a national-team camp and practical work on making, repairing and maintaining equipment. The intention is to make local archery more self-sufficient as participation grows.
Competition is part of the plan
The Niger federation is working towards at least six tournaments by the end of 2026 and a structured calendar for 2027. Recent results at the Alliance of Sahel States Games showed the competitive potential alongside that development work.
A place in World Archery’s 2026–27 Knowledge Sharing programme will add further expert support, including an online judges’ course in French.
