A new mixed-team landmark
Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar combined for 1400 points at the Ahmedabad 2026 World Archery Para Series. World Archery says the compound pair are the first para mixed team to reach that total in qualification.
Their score improves the 1399-point record they set at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. The governing body has confirmed that the new world record is now officially ratified.
Why it matters
A one-point improvement may look small, but at this level it represents a new ceiling across 144 arrows. It also extends a partnership that has already delivered mixed-team bronze at Paris 2024 and major championship titles in Asia.
Devi also left Ahmedabad with individual gold. Both archers now move towards the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games with another major result behind them.
